Esterillos Oeste has always been a land of sea and waves. Esterillos Oeste is located in the province of Puntarenas, near Jaco. The famous beach of Playa Esterillos Oeste is just a few miles south of Playa Hermosa, and is divided from this beach by the rocky Punta Judas. It is one of the best places in Costa Rica to surf, not only for the quantity and quality of the waves but because having a vast diversity of surf
spots, it has waves for all the skills. On the east coast, you can find the best waves to learn how to surf; while on the west coast, from Esterillos Oeste to Playa Hermosa, there is a range of waves that match the skills of most of the surfers, including experienced surfers, and is the place of choice of the best national and international surfers.
