Canopy and ziplining tours are available throughout Costa Rica in nearly every tourist hot spot. Some areas of the country arguably provide more enjoyable canopy and ziplining experiences than others, given the lushness of the surrounding forest which has a more appealing sight, the length and height of the cables which adds to the adrenaline rush, and the number of cables and duration of the tour with respect to the price charged. Most of canopy-ziplining tours still utilize the hand-breaking stop system, however there are some that make use of the automatic z-breaking system. Furthermore, while some canopy-ziplining tours are sold separately, others offer complimentary activities with the reservation of the canopy-ziplining tour, including an aerial tram ride to the top of the rainforest, a visit to a hummingbird garden, a visit to a butterfly garden, , a superman (head-first) cable, or a tarzan swing, among other extras.

Sky Adventures (Arenal)

Sky Adventures is located in La Fortuna/Arenal (nearby El Castillo – about 25 minute drive from downtown La Fortuna). This tour option automatically includes the sky tram aerial tram ride with the sky trek canopy tour. This tour option also provides the option of being combined with Sky Adventures’ sky walk hanging bridges tour.

 Arenal Mundo Aventura
It is located in La Fortuna/Arenal (an approximate 5 minute drive from downtown la fortuna). This tour option is the only canopy tour to include a zipline over the stunning La Fortuna waterfall. This tour option also provides the option of starting the tour with a horseback ride (available at an extra cost) and/or this tour can be combined with Arenal Mundo Aventura’s popular horseback riding to the waterfall tour or their rappel tour.

Sky Adventures (Monteverde)Located just outside of Santa Elena (an approximate 10 minute drive from downtown Santa Elena). This tour option is the only canopy tour to automatically include the sky tram aerial tram ride with the sky trek canopy tour.  This tour option also provides the option of being combined with Sky Adventures’ sky walk hanging bridges tour.
